The Be Books teach children to be …

Positive, Accepting, Kind, and Loving through Stories that Build Self-confidence and Create an Awareness of Being Their Best Self.

Every book in The Be Books collection teaches an important lesson. Why? I believe that a book has an unlimited potential to how far and wide it can reach. The idea that my words can inspire someone across the world is so powerful! I think that as humans we have the opportunity to connect with people and share our experiences, hopes, and dreams.

Each book holds an important lesson, simplified for every child to digest and learn.

These lessons include:

Giving back

A huge part of my life involves giving back. Therefore, I discuss through illustrations and words the power and importance of helping others.

As you can find in my book, The ABC's to a Mindful Life, the letter G represents "Give back to others," while the letter O represents "Offer your help to those who need it."

In my book, Be Who You Were Meant To Be, you will find illustrations showing a healthy friendship when two friends are sharing a toy. You can also find a child feeding a giraffe, representing taking care of others.

Community service is a big piece of The Be Books. You will often find me, Lauren Grabois Fischer, volunteering my time at local organizations that help foster care and underprivileged children. You will also find me donating books to children who are unable to purchase them on their own.

Spreading light

I think it is so important to empower our children with the knowledge that their actions and words can make a difference in this world. It does not matter how old you are or how big or small you are. As human beings we are able to encourage others and make a positive difference.

How do you feel when you know that you can make a change in the world? It feels quite empowering. Let us provide our children and students with that powerful feeling. Let them know that they can make this world a brighter place.

In my book, The Light Within Me you will see that I am showing the reader that we have the choice to choose between positive and negative. As I chose the positive for the main character, we watch as she discovers that her light can ignite the light in others as well. Soon she realizes that her positivity, kindness, and light ... can help her home, her community, her state, her country, and even the world.

Empowerment / Change

You will often see me writing on social media, "Be the light. Be the change." I believe that kindness grows more kindness. I believe that love grows more love. In turn, I also believe that when we empower each other, the possibilities are endless as to how much goodness we can add to the world.

I often hear from parents that not only do their children love my books, but that they too feel inspired and empowered. Let me remind you: We are never too old to grow and learn. We are never too old to stop dreaming. I've been writing since I could pick up a pencil and crayon yet my first published book was when I was 34 years young.

An important thing to remember is that there is always room for improvement. Nobody is ever "perfect." We are constantly evolving and growing. We are constantly learning new things and becoming better versions of ourselves. Change is beautiful when you allow yourself to grow and change in positive ways.

Self Love / Positive Affirmations

Why is it important to love ourselves? The first question you can ask yourself is how can I love others if I don't love myself? The simple answer is ... you can't. In order to create kindness and peace in the world, we must have kindness and peace towards ourselves. For this reason, and for many other reasons, I put a huge focus on creating a healthy mindset for all children.

By creating a gratitude journal and documenting what you feel grateful for, you are reminding yourself of the beauty that surrounds you. When we focus on beauty and positivity, we create more just by focusing on it.

At the back of each of my books are Inspiration/Discussion Pages as well as Activity Pages. On these pages you will find Mirror Work, Gratitude lists, Meditation strategies, Positive Affirmations, among many other creative ways to create and live with self love.

Diversity / Acceptance

Diversity is a beautiful thing. There is so much to learn from someone who is different than you. We need to raise our children to see the beauty in being different and teach them to love who they are.

In both Every So Often A Zebra Has Spots and The Zoo's Big News there are animals that are different than expected. As you read each book you discover the beauty that lies behind each animal that is true to themselves. They look happy. When someone is given the opportunity and gift of being allowed to be themselves, they can live a happier and more fulfilled life.

You will always find diversity among my books. The world is a diverse place. So that should be represented in children's literature. Whether it is seen in diverse children or animals that are different, you can be sure to find beauty and differences in The Be Books.

"You were born to be unique, to stand out in a crowd ... Show the world what you are made of, Stand tall and be proud." - Excerpt from Be Who You Were Meant To Be
